What would you do to see 630 hoggers compete in the Olympics? On Wednesday, September 27th, our campus witnessed a medley of school spirit, friendship, and amusement as the 25th anniversary of our school tradition, Hogolympics, unfolded. Students and teachers across the campus came together, represented their dormitories, and participated in various activities and games. Every student exhibited the unique cultures of their own dorms!

A highlight of the event was student-designed dorm shirts, showcasing each dorm's unique theme. The dorm themes that RLs and dorm faculty come up with before the school year are brought to life during Hogolympics as students attempt to embody their themes through unique dorm shirts and costumes.

For example, USC’s theme is Strawberry Shortcake, LNC’s is dinosaurs, Shea’s, elephants, and so on. Arguably, the most creative was North Wallace, with their theme being a sponge!

Initially, North Wallace had settled on their dorm theme as Spongebob, but they couldn't include the picture due to copyright issues, so they improvised with the theme ‘Sponge.’

Skylar Jeon ‘26, a participant for Upper South Crossley, shared her excitement about seeing everyone getting together. “I did the silly relay, where we raced to the finish line while jumping in a bag without shoes on. Although I didn't win, I enjoyed bonding with my dormmates and cheered them on!”

The Hogolympics is not just about winning. It's about making long-lasting cherished memories, camaraderie, and a sense of pride in the community that we live in. Hogolymics continues to be a remembered and significant part of our life at Northfield Mount Hermon School.
